Butler Pennsylvania School Board Takes Steps To Ban Critical Race Theory

The Butler Area School Board has taken another step towards articulating their position on an issue that has received a lot of political attention in recent months.

At their meeting Monday night, the board approved a resolution concerning a pledge that the district will not teach students or train teachers to teach theories such as Critical Race Theory. The exact language of this resolution will be posted to the district’s website.

This action was taken as a result of concerns raised by Board members Bill Halle and John Conrad about the possibility that Critical Race Theory could be introduced in local schools. They also stated that many local residents have been asking them questions about this topic.
